taste of scenery at and around the cabin

AS you can see little or NO TREES!!!!  worse than Kansas...........until you get up 2 hours past Alan's and it is literally forest city!
Old Anglican Church 3 miles from our cabin.  Took this on a minus 30 degree sunny day! small cemetery here and it is still used for services and small weddings.

looking to the southwest towards our cabin as we stand on a trail within the provincial park.

these 'children' appeared last year on Superbowl Sunday ....we had a football/apple party!

one of our firey sunsets.....I can't get enough and rarely want to cook until totally dark. this is a problem for Joe as it doesn't get dark till 10 or later starting late May!

this is just down the hill looking up to our cabin. Makes ya think we have trees.these are saskatoon bushes....limbs aren't even strong enough to hang a birdfeeder on.

2013.....young bull and cow moose just 2 miles south of us I watched them cross the road then into the farmers field.

mile from our cabin on the provincial park side. Lots of great mountain biking trails that Joe and others utilize. I walk them .

prairie chicken tracks ...they fly into our yard like fighter jets and eat grain/birdseed we toss out for them.  I keep saying i will shoot supper but guess there is a season for them...EVEN when they are on OUR land! ha!

our lone squirrel

Miss "Emily-Oakley" last June. she actually does well for no more than she shoots!  Watch out boys!

looking to the northwest off our deck.

a favorite site when farmers plant flax..........as you come upon it in bloom it seriously looks like a lake of blue water.  This is just 8 miles from us on the way into town.
